Vintage Fisher Price #2710 Pick Up 'N Peek Teaching Clock Puzzle Near Mint (B)

Here is a VHTF, Vintage Fisher Price Pick- Up and Peek #2710 Teaching Clock Puzzle for your inspection. This puzzle consists of 12 interlocking pieces, four of which are equipped with a yellow peg to help little fingers easily remove the pieces from the puzzle.
Created for 3-6 year old children, this puzzle features a myriad of engaging
illustrations. Manufactured between 1985-88, this puzzle was designed by one of Fisher Price's most celebrated illustrators, Michael J. Smollin. The detail on
this puzzle is OUTSTANDING! All of the pieces, when removed, have an underlying litho depicting what members of the mouse community might be doing during different times of the day.
This is a FABULOUS puzzle to reinforce beginning language concepts: (e.g. before/after, night time/daytime) and assorted action words (e.g. eating, reading, shopping, swinging, climbing, ringing, sitting, pointing, laughing,
pouring, running, riding, bathing etc.). The red plastic clock hands move to depict the various times of day. What a great way to teach telling time and to highlight associated language-based concepts as well as other assorted vocabulary. In my opinion, this puzzle warrants an NEAR MINT rating.
After repeatedly inspecting this puzzle, the only "flaws" I can find are:
1. One, pin-head size rub on the underlying litho near 9:00-10:00; this is difficult to see; it's next to the green book on the floor; and
2. One, barely perceptible indentation on the underlying litho near 4:00; this indentation has not resulted in a rub, tear, or alteration to the litho itself; this is one of those "flaws" that you literally have to hold the puzzle up
within 3" of your eyes and rotate it in the light to see it.
I've taken close up pictures of the above "imperfections" but I doubt that some of them even show in my pictures---they're that insignificant. Believe it or not, but I've actually seen some of these puzzles that came out of the factory uncut and someone later framed them and hung them on a child's wall for decoration. The colors are that bright---they're EXQUISITE!
Although you can't see it in my photos, the imprint on the back of the puzzle indicates it was made in the U.S.A. for Fisher Price, copyright 1984, Division of the Quaker Oats Co. The back of the puzzle pieces, as well as the back of the puzzle, are free of any marks, stains, chips etc. This is a formidable puzzle!
This RARE wood puzzle exemplifies Fisher Price's reputation for durable, classic toys. The puzzle weighs 13 oz. UNWRAPPED and my location is Lafayette, IN (47905).
