You deserve a break today...""I'm lovin' it....." "McCafe..." "Egg McMuffin," "Big Mac.." Think about all the new nomenclature that has evolved with the creation of the McDonald's Restaurant chain. Here for your perusal is a 100% COMPLETE, Fisher Price Little People #2552 McDonald's play set. Manufactured for only one year (1990), this toy is exceedingly hard to find with all its pieces and in this kind of condition (EXC+++--NEAR MINT). NOTE: This is the original version of this set. It featured the original Little People, NOT the chunky figures. This set is coveted by collectors and children alike:) To add to the fun, I've inserted 6 more Little People figures and 5 extra vehicles. After all, when haven't you seen McDonald's crowded!
The toy itself features a highly entertaining, slide-out playground with a McDonald's shake riding toy, a gobbling cheeseburger slide that opens and shuts with the push of a lever, a french fry mini-roller coaster, and a merry-go-round. One can even "launch" one of the Little People aloft on the blue catapult lever to land inside the cheeseburger and slide outside via the slide. What fun!
This Vintage Fisher Price Little People McDonald's Restaurant Play Set has an "automatic" front door (the character steps on the step and the door opens), a drive-thru window with slide-out tray, an order counter complete with a cash register, a revolving menu board on the back door, and an indoor eating area. When the characters are finished eating at their table, they can slip away onto the playground by dropping through the escape hatches. All the moving parts are fully operational. The revolving menu board, though, is a tad loose. I'm going to be tightening the plastic pieces on the underneath side of the base so that they hold the sign more securely.
The plastic surfaces are bright and colorful and are devoid of any cracks, chips, breaks, repairs, abrasions, scratches, or discolorations (NEAR MINT). After close scrutiny, I can detect a couple of tiny rubs on the Hamburger's eyes. That's it!
An examination of the original lithos (e.g. the revolving door, the Fisher Price logo, shake litho, the McDonald's litho) are in NEAR MINT- MINT condition!!!. Noted "flaws" include one, teensy bubble on the lower edge of the shake litho and a black mark on one side of the shake container itself. Hopefully, this mark will come off during the cleaning process but I can't guarantee that this will be the case.
A number of accessories and Little People accompanied this set. All of these are in MINT condition unless otherwise noted. You will be receiving the following original accessories and Little People:
1 RARE Ronald McDonald;
1 RARE Hamburglar with red gloves, black mask, and hat);
1 VHTF brown trash can;
1 VHTF McDonald's sign;
1 VHTF french fry cart (EXC--wheel hubs have darkened due to age; I will be treating these wheel caps with Naval Jelly to brighten them up);
1 RARE white/yellow car w/front and back seats and fins (EXC-EXC++--some dulling and rust on the wheel caps; once again, I will be removing this from the wheel hubs using Naval Jelly); NOTE: This car is listed as a variation to the blue/white car in thisoldtoy.com);
1 VHTF tall, coral bodied Mom w/black pony;
1 VHTF green bodied boy with black molded hair (NOTE: this is one of the variations Fisher Price used in the production of this set; instead of always using the yellow bodied boy with black molded hair, they sometimes used the green bodied boy I have inserted here); and
1 RARE short, orange bodied girl with rust sculpted hair.
To add to the number of open-ended play possibilities, I have included the following BONUS pieces which are in MINT condition:
1 ALL PLASTIC, blue bodied Mom with blonde pony;
1 ALL PLASTIC, green bodied Dad with black heat stamped hair (NEAR MINT--miniscule amount of edge wear at the bottom of the figure);
1 VHTF, ALL PLASTIC, yellow bodied Grandma with white hair in a bun;
1 ALL PLASTIC, orange bodied, smiling boy with red heat-stamped hair;
1 ALL PLASTIC, blue bodied Farmer with yellow cowboy hat and orange, triangular scarf;
1 ALL PLASTIC, blue bodied girl with rust sculpted hair;
1 RARE, all green, two seater car with front to back seats and fins (EXC+++-NEAR MINT--some dulling of wheel hubs; this will be rectified with a generous application of Naval Jelly);
1 RARE, red/white, two seater car with front to back seats and fins;
1 HTF yellow taxi with front to back seat and fins;
1 VHTF, aqua blue/white jeep (normally seen with the FP Zoo)(EXC---some rust on wheel hubs; this will be addressed during the cleaning process); and
1 VHTF, aqua blue gondola car with white canopy (this attaches to the jeep listed above)(VG+-VG++--some moderate rust on wheel hubs along with some surface scratches and scrapes).
Please note I'm being super "nit-picky" in describing this set. Most sellers would not even mention the minor aberrations I have disclosed. In fact, many of my previous customers have stated that their purchases from me have FAR EXCEEDED my descriptions. Don't take my word for it; check out my feedback.
This set would make an INCREDIBLE addition to someone's Vintage Fisher Price Little People collection or for some special child to receive. What a RIVETING toy to have at Grandma's house for when the grandchildren come to visit!!!! What little one doesn't enjoy pretending they're going to McDonald's?
I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this play set with a child's toothbrush, toothpicks, and Q-tips before I send it to its new owner. I spend a MINIMUM of 1 1/2 -5 hours cleaning each and every VINTAGE Fisher Price Little People play set I sell except for those clearly marked in My Rough Room. I utilize a variety of cleaning products: Dawn w/anti-bacterial ingredients, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Goo Gone, Soft Scrub, Comet, Chlorox bleach pen, Crayon Away, Naval Jelly, Armor All wipes etc. My sets are SQUEAKY CLEAN!!!
