Vintage Fisher Price Pick Up 'N Peek
#503 Occupations
VG+-VG++ (C)

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" How many times do we ask young children that question? Here for your consideration is a HTF vintage Fisher Price Pick Up 'N Peek #503 Puzzle entitled Occupations. Manufactured between 1972-1976, this puzzle consists of eight single pieces and is designed for children between ages 2-5. Each piece is equipped with a yellow peg that helps young children to remove the pieces. Under each puzzle piece, is a picture showing the kind of activities these occupations afford.
I would consider this puzzle to be in Very Good +--Very Good++ condition. Noted imperfections include:
1. Some scattered "dings," indentations, light scratches, and scuffs on the top of the puzzle;
2. Minor edge wear on several of the puzzle pieces;
3. Some minor paint loss on a most of the pieces (e.g. workman, Mother, astronaut, cowboy, policeman, ballerina, nurse);
4. Some minor loss of veneer to the upper right of the nurse's cap;
5. Some minor "feathering" on the back edges of several puzzle pieces;
6. Some red marks and black striations on the back of a couple of the puzzle pieces;
7. Some scratches and a few water stains on the back of the puzzle;
8. Some "stiffness" in inserting and removing the cowboy figure; I have no idea why this is the case but feel I should disclose this.
I know my description sounds horrendous; however, I am being super "nit-picky" in my description because I don't want anyone to be disappointed by their purchase from me.
The back of the puzzle reveals this puzzle was made in Holland for Fisher Price Toys, copyright 1971-1972, The Quaker Oats Co.
This is a sturdy, wooden puzzle that is sure to delight one or two more generations of young children. It weighs 1 lb. 5 oz. UNWRAPPED. My location is Lafayette, IN (47905). I will be shipping this puzzle in a protective box and wrapped in bubble wrap.
