Vintage Fisher Price Little People #923 School
99% Complete w/ FP Chalk and Box,
Wood LP, Letter and Number Trays,

EXC++
Here for your consideration is a 99% COMPLETE, Fisher Price Play Family #923 School in EXC++ condition. This offering features both letter and number magnetic trays, all the letters and numbers plus the 8 EXTRA letters featured in the original set, playground equipment, desks, and RARE ORIGINAL FISHER PRICE CHALK. The only thing missing from this set is the original eraser.
While the masonite base is not the extended masonite base often seen with the earlier sets, the rest of the piece matches the description of the earliest sets (e.g. between 1971-75). Specifically, it features both the original EXTERIOR and INTERIOR Fisher Price logos. Similarly, all the other lithos are original to this base. As is true for sets manufactured between 1971-75, this particular set contains 5 ALL WOOD LITTLE PEOPLE.
ALL of the EXTERIOR lithos on this base, with the exception of the main Fisher Price logo and the bell tower, roof litho, are STUNNING (EXC++-NEAR MINT)! After repeated inspections, the ONLY "imperfections I can find are:
1. The edges of the main Fisher Price roof litho have darkened slightly due to age; the same litho also evidences a handful of tiny bubbles and one drop (@1/8" L x 1/8" W) of white paint; the latter "flaws" do not detract from the overall appearance of this litho; and
2. The bell tower litho displays three small paint splatters; the largest is 1/4" L x 1/4" W; the same litho also exhibits multiple vertical bubbles.
That's it!!! The remaining EXTERIOR lithos are GORGEOUS (MINT)!! They are brightly colored and smoothly adhered to their underlying surfaces. I do not see any bubbles, creases, tears, or marks on any of these other exterior lithos. These are some of the most beautiful School lithos I've ever seen.
NOTE: THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL LITHOS. I DO NOT USE REPLACEMENT LITHOS ON MY SETS. IF A LITHO IS MISSING OR DAMAGED EXTENSIVELY, I OCCASIONALLY OFFER THE BUYER A REPLACEMENT LITHO. HOWEVER, I DO NOT APPLY THESE LITHOS MYSELF. I LEAVE IT TOTALLY UP TO THE DISCRETION OF THE BUYER WHETHER THEY WISH TO UTILIZE THESE. I PROVIDE THESE REPLACEMENT LITHOS AT NO CHARGE TO THE BUYER. FOR THIS SET, I AM OFFERING A REPLACEMENT LITHO FOR THE BELL TOWER LITHO.
FYI, these reproduction lithos are the finest replacement lithos out there. The lady that makes these lithos is in British Columbia,Canada, and has been making these for over 11 years. She uses a heavy duty True-Block paper with a peel off sticky back along with a professional grade printer. She calibrates her printer to match a set of unused, vintage FP lithos she procured from a former FP employee. These replacement lithos are as close as you can come to the real deal. Her replacement lithos are water resistant. You may see other competitors out there. However, the ink on their lithos is not water resistant and the paper is of inferior quality. All the buyer needs to do is peel off the sticky back on the reproduction litho and apply it to the clean, metal roof. Or, if the buyer prefers, I can apply the roof logo for them.
The INTERIOR lithos are similarly endowed (EXC). The only "imperfections" I can spy are:
1. Three, light brown stains on the floor litho; I may be able to eradicate these during the cleaning process; these stains do not jump out at you; to me, they resemble variations one might see in the wooden "floor;"
2. Two, light green marks on the floor litho; I may or may not be able to remove these during the cleaning process;
3. Two, light water stains on either side of the front door; I may be able to minimize their presence during the cleaning process; and
4. Two, light water stains on the chalkboard litho; one of these courses across the floorboard and the other is on the lower, right-hand edge of the same litho; I may or may not be able to minimize their presence during the cleaning process.
An examination of the roof's plastic surfaces reveals two, white paint splatters; one is @ 5/8" L x 1/4" W on the white roof near the bell tower; the other is @ 1/16"L x 1/16"W on the lower, exterior margin of the fold down flap. If these paint splatters weren't there, the plastic surfaces would warrant an EXC++-NEAR MINT rating. I will not be attempting to remove these splatters for fear of damaging the adjacent roof areas. There are no "dings," cracks, abrasions, scuffs, scratches, discolorations, breaks, rust or repairs on any of the other plastic surfaces. The roof has generally retained its original creamy white color as has all of the corners of the school. The chalkboard appears to be in NEAR MINT condition. While the chalkboard exhibits multiple, faint surfaces scratches, these have not displaced the green chalk board surface and are difficult to see.
All of the masonite corners on the base are free of any layering, smushing, cracking, repairs etc. The underneath side of the masonite base displays multiple "leached out" spots;" suffice it to say that they don't interfere with the base's overall appearance when it's on display.
In my opinion, this base deserves an overall EXC++--NEAR MINT rating; however, I have lowered my rating to EXC++ purely on the basis of the aforementioned "flaws." I have supplied a photo of a reproduction litho for the bell tower for your perusal.
With the exception of the RARE eraser, all of the original accessories and Little People are included in this offering. With the exception of the swing set and teacher's chair, all of them are in NEAR MINT--MINT condition. They are free of any "nibbles," or "chews and the ALL WOOD Little People display sharp facial features with minimal, if any, paint loss. The swing set and teacher's chair, in my opinion, garner a VG+-VG++ rating. I have repaired the side and base nearest to the glider with Laser Bond glue. There shouldn't be any further issues with this piece. The teacher's chair shows some edge wear around the perimeter of the seat and on the underneath side of the chair's legs.

My sets are IMMACULATE! They're immediately ready to go on display or to give to some lucky child for play.
Remember, these VINTAGE Fisher Price toys are NOT designed for children under 3 years of age or those who are still mouthing their toys. Adult supervision is STRONGLY recommended.
Also, these VINTAGE Fisher Price toys are NOT part of the recent recall of toys manufactured in China. This play set was produced in the good ol' USA 50 years ago. They sure don't make durable toys like this any more!
