Vintage Fisher Price
Play Family #952
Yellow House Complete Plus
Bonus/ EXC++--NR MINT (P)

First of all, this is no "Fixer-Upper." Here for your consideration is a vintage, Fisher Price Little People #952 Yellow House in EXC++-NR MINT condition and 100% complete. In other words, it's "move in ready." Featuring a masonite base, I configured this play set to coincide with Fisher Price's 1976-79 version (as per www.thisoldtoy.com). I have also included 5 BONUS "Little Riders," plus a RARE baby along with other RARE accessories for the laundry and sewing areas, bathroom and outdoor patio.
After much scrutiny, I can only find the following aberrations on the EXTERIOR lithos:
1. Approximately 27 miniscule to small bubbles on the litho on the front of the house; "What you say---how can this be in NEAR MINT condition? Well, the largest of these bubbles, which is 1/2" L x 1/2" W, is the outlier. Most of the other bubbles are < 1/16" in diameter and are not visible unless you hold the base up within 3" of your eyes and rotate it in the light; in fact, I was startled when I performed the latter action and discovered all of these teensy bubbles; I had not even noticed them until now;
2. One, large (e.g. 1 1/2" L x 1/4" W) bubble on the far left hand edge of the chimney side litho along with one, tiny puncture (e.g. 1/8" L x 1/16" W) to the right of the chimney on the same litho;
3. Three, pin-head size black dots on the litho adjacent to the chimney; these may or may not come off during the cleaning process;
4. Approximately 33 tiny to moderate- sized bubbles located on the house's back wall litho; the three largest of these, are positioned between the second floor, right- hand window and the first floor right -hand window, another courses from the lower edge of the first floor right- hand side window to the far edge of the litho, and the last one lies down and to the left of the top floor, left-hand side window. These are readily observable while the other bubbles are largely hidden unless you scrutinize the piece by holding it up within 3" of your eyes and rotate it in the light; similarly, there are 3 intermittent, barely visible, vertical hairline creases on the house back litho;
5. Two, large bubbles (e.g. one is @ 1 1/2" L x 3/4" W and the other is @ 1" L x 1/4" W) and approximately a dozen other tiny to small bubbles on the end garage litho; and
6. One, small rub on the house litho next to the garage; this rub is located next to where the two halves of the house join together; it is invisible when the house is closed.
All of the EXTERIOR lithos are clean and bright with their full, original coloration. The grassy lithos around the perimeter of the house and the main Fisher Price logo are perfect. in general, I would rate all of the EXTERIOR lithos as being in EXC condition since the majority of the bubbles are not readily apparent and do not detract from the overall appearance of the base. All of these lithos are devoid of any marks, soiling, tearing, or fading. I'm being "super nit-picky" in describing the above flaws. I do not want to mislead or disappoint any of my customers.
All of the INTERIOR wall and floor lithos are pristine (NEAR MINT-MINT). A couple (e.g. the children's bedroom and living room) lithos are coming loose. I will be fixing that with an application of Rubber Cement. The rest are smoothly adhered to their underlying surfaces and their colors are bright and robust. I can only discern one teensy bubble on the kitchen floor litho and three, small spots on the living room floor. I am not sure whether or not these spots will come off during the cleaning process. You literally could "eat" off of the garage floor litho, it is so clean. The end of the driveway litho exhibits a little soiling but I'm confident it will come off during the cleaning process.
Positives I should note:
1. There are no breaks, cracks, repairs, scratches, abrasions, discolorations, chips, "dings" or fading on any of the plastic surfaces;
2. There is no fraying of the plastic on the top of the chimney; this is commonly seen with this set along with leached out white spots on the chimney itself; that is not the case here;
3. All four corners of the Masonite base are intact; one is slightly bent upwards; I will rectify this prior to sending the house to its new owners; all of the corners are free of any layering or smushing etc.;
4. There is no significant paint loss on the inner margins of the folding house; most of these sets have experienced cracking of the wood or chipping of the paint. These painted surfaces look brand new;
5. There is no cracking on the interior chimney seam;
6. The grassy lithos surrounding the house are superb (MINT)! I've never encountered one of these houses that didn't have some marks, stains, or "picks" on the grassy lithos;
7. The plastic roof, hinges, garage door, front door, and door bell are all intact and functional; and
8. The underlying surface of the masonite base is devoid of any marks or water stains.
All of the original accessories and Little People are paired with this remarkable base. With the exception of the staircase and the car, all of the other items are in EXC++-MINT condition. You will be receiving the following:
1 RARE, yellow double bed with diamond patterned "quilt" in lieu of a mattress (NOTE: I substituted this RARE patterned Fisher Price bed for a plain yellow double bed. I didn't have any other double yellow beds in stock so I opted to use this one; I'm also including some tan, firm, foam mattresses for all three beds in case the new owner wishes to use them; I will not be gluing these in place so that the owner can remove them if they wish);
2 RARE, matching yellow twin beds with teddy bear "quilts" imprinted on them (NOTE: Fisher Price originally produced these yellow twin beds for its Neighborhood play set; since I didn't have any other suitable yellow twin beds, I substituted these in their stead);
1 RARE, white coffee table;
2 RARE, white stuffed chairs;
1 HTF round, brown table;
4 HTF matching, reddish brown captains' chairs with triangles on the back;
1 RARE, red/white single seat car with FP being written on the wheels (NOTE: The car evidences some light scuffing behind the passenger seat. Finally, this version of the #952 House came without a "C" hook on it; );
1 HTF, yellow staircase with litho (NOTE: As this litho exhibits a substantial number of moderate to large bubbles, I will be offering a reproduction or replacement litho for the staircase.
NOTE: THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL LITHOS. I DO NOT USE REPLACEMENT LITHOS ON MY SETS. IF A LITHO IS MISSING OR DAMAGED EXTENSIVELY, I OCCASIONALLY OFFER THE BUYER A REPLACEMENT LITHO. HOWEVER, I DO NOT APPLY THESE LITHOS MYSELF. I LEAVE IT TOTALLY UP TO THE DISCRETION OF THE BUYER WHETHER THEY WISH TO UTILIZE THESE. I PROVIDE THESE REPLACEMENT LITHOS AT NO CHARGE TO THE BUYER. FOR THIS SET, I AM OFFERING A REPLACEMENT LITHO FOR THE STAIRCASE.
FYI, these reproduction lithos are the finest replacement lithos out there. The lady that makes these lithos is in British Columbia,Canada, and has been making these for over 10 years. She uses a heavy duty True-Block paper with a peel off sticky back along with a professional grade printer. She calibrates her printer to match a set of unused, vintage FP lithos she procured from a former FP employee. These replacement lithos are as close as you can come to the real deal. Her replacement lithos are water resistant. You may see other competitors out there. However, the ink on their lithos is not water resistant and the paper is of inferior quality. All the buyer needs to do is peel off the sticky back on the reproduction litho and apply it to the clean, metal roof. OR IF THE BUYER PREFERS, I WILL REPLACE THE LITHOS FOR YOU.
1 ALL PLASTIC, tall, green bodied Dad w/ heat stamped hair;
1 ALL PLASTIC, tall, blue bodied Mom w/ blonde pony;
1 ALL PLASTIC, short, orange bodied boy with a smiling face and red heat stamped hair;
1 ALL PLASTIC, short, blue bodied girl with rust sculpted hair; and
1 ALL PLASTIC, black bodied Snoopy with red collar and links (NOTE: This dog is free of any "nibbles" on his ears; also, the dog for this set was called "Snoopy" instead of "Lucky" which was the name of the dog for later sets. If you look carefully, you can see "Snoopy's" dog dish next to the back door of the garage).
This offering also includes a number of BONUS accessories in MINT condition. These are:
1 RARE yellow flowered /aqua umbrella table;
4 HTF yellow captains' chairs with triangles on the back;
1 RARE, aqua/yellow sewing machine;
1 RARE, aqua captain's chair;
1 RARE, yellow sink;
1 RARE, yellow bathtub;
1 RARE, aqua/yellow potty;
1 RARE, aqua washer;
1 RARE, aqua dryer;
1 RARE, baby with white bonnet and yellow bib;
1 HTF, green train engine riding toy;
1 HTF, red/white riding horse;
1 VHTF, blue tricycle riding toy;
1 HTF, green wagon riding toy; and
1 HTF, orange airplane riding toy.
This is a GREAT, durable set. I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this set and all of its accessories prior to sending it to its new owners. I spend any where from 1 1/2-5 hours cleaning these bases so you can be assured they are immaculate.
They don't make open-ended, durable play sets like this any more. Don't miss out on this one!!!
This set would make a FANTASTIC addition to someone's Fisher Price collection or for some special child to receive. What a RIVETING toy to have at Grandma's house for when the grandkids come to visit!!!!
This would also be an AWESOME toy for a Child Life Specialist, Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, or Child Psychologist to use with their clients.
REMEMBER, this VINTAGE Fisher Price play set is NOT included in the recent Fisher Price recall of toys manufactured in China. This play set was manufactured in the good ole' U.S.A. in 1976!!! It's 43 years young and still exemplifies Fisher Price's reputation for imaginative, durable toys.
Purchasers should refrain from allowing children under 3 years of age to play with these toys without adult supervision or to offer these toys to children who may be still mouthing their toys.
This set weighs approximately 6--6 1/2 lbs. UNWRAPPED. My zip code is 47905 (INDIANA).
