#990 A-Frame Play Set
100% Complete with Ladder, Red Jeep, Bunk Beds

Do you like to ski? Here for your consideration is an iconic treasure often associated with ski resorts---a Fisher Price Play Family #990 A-Frame play set!!! Manufactured between 1974-76, this play set is 100% complete and in NEAR MINT condition. It also features four LITTLE PEOPLE and their trusty fur-bearing companion, Lucky.
This base has definitely been cherished. After repeated scrutiny, the only "flaws" I can ascertain are:
1. Some minor edge wear and a crease on the main Fisher Price litho;
2. A minor rub on top of the "S" in the word "Fisher"on the interior FP litho;
3. Some minor scuffing/rubbing on the plastic window adjacent to the bell. This rubbing is commonly seen in these sets; and
4. The original foam on the bunk beds has disintegrated over time; I have inserted some firm, foam mattresses in the bunk beds. These have not been glued in case the new owners elect to use something else in their stead.
That's it!!!!! I'm being extremely "nit-picky" here. All of the plastic hinges are fully intact, the sliding doors operate as designed, and the bell rings merrily to welcome its occupants. The aqua coloration of the outside roof is uniform throughout (e.g. no darkening with age) and there are no chips, marks, cracks, repairs, scratches or stains of any kind on any of the plastic surfaces. The driveway litho, rug litho, and kitchen lithos are pristine. The bell has retained its original shiny sheen. This is absolutely an heirloom quality base.
Besides this STUNNING Fisher Price play base, the set includes the following accessories, all of which are in EXC+++--MINT condition:
1 HTF 4 rung white ladder (EXC+++--one, teensy "nibble" on the top of the ladder platform along with some roughness on the edge of this same platform);
1 RARE, red/white, 4 seater jeep with Fisher Price written on its wheels (NEAR MINT--some dullness on the wheel caps; I'll be applying some Naval Jelly on these wheel caps to brighten them up);
1 3 legged yellow grill w/litho (MINTY MINT);
4 RARE, yellow stacking bunk beds with traces of their original foam(VG+--Due to dry rot, I will be replacing the original foam with hard foam inserts (see photos); I will not be gluing these "mattresses" into place so if you don't wish to keep them, you'll be able to easily remove them; all of the beds still have their original "pegs" so they latch together easily and firmly); with the foam replacements in place, these bunk beds will garner an EXC+++-NEAR MINT rating);
1 VHTF white picnic table with litho (MINTY MINT);
2 HTF white picnic benches (MINTY MINT);
2 HTF yellow chaise lounge chairs (MINT); and
2 HTF yellow captain's chairs with triangles on the back (MINT).
This particular offering also includes 4 all plastic Little People and 1 ALL PLASTIC LUCKY :
1 tall, blue bodied Mom with blonde hair (MINT);
1 short, red bodied girl with blonde bob and bangs (MINTY MINT);
1 VHTF, ALL WOOD, tall, green bodied Dad with "belt", brown heat stamped hair, and metal rivet (NEAR MINT---small amount of paint loss on the side, near the bottom edge of the figure);
1 short, yellow bodied boy with a smiling face and a red cap facing forward (MINTY MINT); and
1 ALL PLASTIC Lucky with a red link collar (MINTY MINT---absolutely no chews or nibbles anywhere on this piece).
The A-Frame and all of its accessories will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaned prior to sending it to its new owners. I spend a MINIMUM of 1 1/2 -6 hours cleaning each and every VINTAGE Fisher Price Little People play set I sell (except for those clearly marked in MY ROUGH ROOM). I utilize a variety of cleaning products---Dawn dish washing soap with anti-bacterial ingredients, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Goo-Gone, Crayon-Away, Chlorox Bleach pen, Soft Scrub, Comet, Windex, Naval Jelly, Armor All wipes etc. along with a child's toothbrush, toothpicks, and Q-tips to give these sets a detailed cleaning. My sets are IMMACULATE! All you have to do is unpack and enjoy them.
This would make an AWESOME gift for any avid Fisher Price COLLECTOR! It would also make a WONDERFUL gift for some lucky child.
NOTE: This play set is not a part of the recent recall of Fisher Price toys manufactured in China. This set was produced in the good, ole' U.S.A. around 1975-76. It's hard to imagine this set is 45 years young! They sure don't make toys the way they used to!
Due to some small parts, children under 3 years of age or those still mouthing their toys should not be given these toys to play with unsupervised. Adult supervision is highly recommended.
