RARE Vintage Fisher Price
Fun-with-Food
#2109 Pack-A-Picnic (Picnic Basket)
Complete/ NEAR MINT! (A)

What child doesn't enjoy embarking on a picnic? Here's a darling, vintage Fisher Price Fun-with-Food Pack-a-Picnic set for your perusal. Manufactured for only one year (1989-90), this set is VHTF, especially with all of its original components. Designed for children ages 3-7 years of age, the set consists of a tan picnic basket with a red carry handle that folds to either side. The tan lid is hinged in the middle so that the basket can be opened on either side. All of the picnic food easily stores inside of the basket. The outside of the basket resembles a real, woven picnic basket and the lid has the words "Fisher Price" imprinted on it. Overall, I would consider this set to be in NEAR MINT condition.
Components of this set include:
2 red apples
2 chicken legs
2 ears of sweet corn along with their original husks; these husks can be removed to "eat" the corn
1 white potato chip bag---the front side displays a blue background, a picture of potato chips, and the words "Potato Chips" in red and white; the back of the bag is devoid of any decoration (NOTE: As you can see from the photo, this bag currently looks "dingy;" I will be hand washing this bag prior to sending it to its new owners. Hopefully, the bag will brighten up following this washing)
6 potato chips
2 white plates without any trim
2 blue glasses
Don't miss out on this adorable set. This is the first one of these sets I've been able to assemble in over 20 years of searching.
NOTE: This play set is not a part of the recent recall of Fisher Price toys manufactured in China. The glasses and plates were all produced in the good ole' U.S.A. I could not discern a country of origin for the food; however, Fisher Price didn't start outsourcing to a large degree to other countries until after Mattel purchased the company in the early 1990's. The items contained in this set were manufactured by Fisher Price, a division of Quaker Oats; thus, they were not created in China.
This set was manufactured in the U.S.A. and belies Fisher Price's well deserved reputation for durable, quality toys.
This set weighs @ 2 lbs. unwrapped. My location is Lafayette, IN 47905.
