Fun-with-Food #2118 McDonald's Soda Fountain
Complete with Box/MINT (N)

Who screams for ice cream?" Well, I scream for ice cream. I can't count the number of times my husband or I have taken a quick trip to Culver's to get some of their butter pecan ice cream! What would it be like to have your own Soda Fountain that also dispenses ice cream yet doesn't put any extra inches on your hips? Well, here for your consideration is an AWESOME play set...a Vintage Fisher Price Fun with Food #2118 McDonalds Soda Fountain! Manufactured between 1989-90, this set is INCREDIBLY hard to find in this condition (MINT), and with all of its original pieces. Note: Since taking these photos, I acquired a second set of ice cubes thus making this set 100% complete.
The sparkling white base performs several different functions. When you shove the red bar to the right, the ice cream dispenser rotates and drops a large scoop of ice cream into a plastic dish or cone. Pulling down on either of the red levers causes a pretend "milkshake" or "soda" to pour into a McDonald's cup. Dropping a set of ice cubes down the blue door on top of the "machine" ferries the ice into the customer's soft drink. Children are absolutely mesmerized by this rotating ice cream carousel.
This set comes replete with the following original accessories; all are in NEAR MINT --MINT condition unless otherwise designated. In fact, all of the accessories possess their original luster and still smell like "new:"
1 VHTF all plastic McDonald's soda and ice cream dispenser base with lithos;
2 VHTF chocolate ice creams;
2 HTF vanilla ice creams;
1 HTF blue plastic lid to cover the ice cream dispenser;
2 HTF plastic ice cream cones (still shiny and like new);
2 VHTF crystal clear plastic ice cream dishes;
2 RARE coffee cup lids;
2 RARE coffee cups with McDonald's logos (no fading on the brown box around the McDonald's logo; many of these cups' heat stamped lithos have faded over time);
2 sets of VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND, crystal clear plastic ice cubes;
2 HTF white plastic Fisher Price spoons;
1 VHTF strawberry topping for the ice cream;
1 VHTF chocolate topping for the ice cream; and
1 RARE pamphlet that portrays the full line of Fisher Price's Fun-with-Food play sets at that time.
NOTE: None of these accessories exhibit any scratches, abrasions, "nibbles,"or discolorations. I can't stress enough that they look like they've never been used.
The box displays multiple creases and tears. It possesses all of its original flaps, interior packing material, and vibrant coloration. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best, I would rate this box as being a 7.0/10.0. Despite its flaws, it's still imminently displayable.
NOTE: This play set is not a part of the recent recall of Fisher Price toys manufactured in China. The toppings and spoons were made in Korea. All of the remaining items were manufactured in the U.S.A.
This is a TREMENDOUS play set that would please any "die hard" Fisher Price collector or some lucky child. You'll see many play sets out there that are purportedly complete but they're missing the ice cubes, the toppings, the spoons, the coffee lids, or even the main FP lid over the carousel of revolving ice cream. This set is 100% complete. As a former Speech-Language Pathologist, I found this play set to be particularly helpful in working with children with language delays and/or those on the autistic spectrum. This set affords the child realistic restaurant role-playing opportunities which they then can emulate in real life situations. As you know, just about every child in America is familiar with McDonald's and they literally play with this toy for hours!
I will not be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this set because I believe the cleaning materials would alter the "new smell" or luster of these unblemished pieces. They are already squeaky clean.
This set weighs approximately 4 lbs. UNWRAPPED and my location is Lafayette, IN (47905). This set will require an over-sized box.
I'm more than happy to combine multiple purchases. All I ask is that the buyer check out and pay for all of their purchases at one time. Otherwise, I get charged multiple PayPal transaction fees.
If possible, I like to ship these vintage Fisher Price sets via Fed Ex Home Delivery. To do so, I must have a contact phone number (e.g. cell, work, or home) to complete their paperwork. Otherwise, they will not accept the package for delivery.
