#217 Country Fair Bib Jeans Outfit

Here is a RARE, VHTF My Friend #217 Country Fair Bib-Jeans Outfit new in its original box for your inspection. This outfit was only manufactured for one year (1977-78). It consisted of a pair of farmer bib overalls with criss-cross straps, a real pocket with detailing on the front, and trimmed with attractive navy blue buttons. The straps fastened using large metal snaps. The set also included a soft peach colored short sleeve shirt with cuffs and velcro fasteners to make it easy for little fingers to dress their dolls. A multi-colored scarf was also included. The original Fisher Price tag is still attached to the jeans. The outfit does not exhibit any pulls, stains, marks, or tears on any of the fabrics. The original Fisher Price offering came with red clogs. While the clogs have slipped off their original plastic ties, they are still loose in the box. Like the dolls, this outfit is machine washable. I would recommend using cold water and either laying the items flat to dry or tumble drying them in low heat.
As stated previously, the outfit is mounted on a cardboard insert inside its original shallow box. The box exhibits some creasing, bowing, extraneous tape, remnants of its original price tag, edge wear, and a couple of minor tears on the flaps on the side of the box. All in all, the box has weathered the sands of time admirably. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being perfect, I would rate this box as an 8. It still displays nicely for a 39 year old package. While I didn't remove the inner cardboard insert, I peered inside the slide flap and determined the accompanying pattern is present.
This outfit is EXTREMELY hard to find with its original matching scarf let alone with any shoes. I have included some pictures of what a similar outfit looks like on a My Friend Mandy for your perusal. This doll is sold separately in my booth and is NOT included with this offering.
This outfit weighs 9 oz. UNWRAPPED. I will be shipping it inside a box to protect the integrity of the plastic container and its outfit. If I can keep the weight under 15 oz., I will ship it First Class. Otherwise, I will send it Priority Mail. My location is Lafayette, IN (47905).

In the late 1970's to early 80's, Fisher Price introduced a series of soft bodied dolls with vinyl limbs, lush, brushable hair, vinyl faces, and easily removable clothes and accessories. The series, called My Friend dolls, featured 5 doll characters: Mandy, Jenny, Becky, Nicky, and Mikey. These dolls could be washed in the clothes washer and tumble dried in the dryer. Their hair could also be shampooed and styled in a variety of ways.
