Vintage Playmobil #3720 Circus Romani
100% Complete with Box/ Near Mint (D)

Here for your consideration is an AWESOME, Vintage Playmobil #3720 Circus Romani play set. Manufactured for 4 years before being retired (e.g. 1992-1996), this particular offering is in NEAR MINT -MINT condition and is housed in its original box! This set features a number of talented high wire aerialists and trapeze artists along with a ringmaster and a circus worker.
This is a huge set (23" W x 18" H) when assembled. The Circus Romani big top arena has a realistic-looking center ring, two ticket windows, an impressive entrance to the "Biggest Show on Earth," bleachers for the audience, a safety net to catch any "off-target" performers, a high wire bike, a ladder for the performers to access the elevated high wire platforms, "spot-lights" to highlight the "acts," jaunty flags, a balancing bar with suspended trapeze swings, an elevated swing from the topmost circus sign, a gathering area replete with curtain for the performers to assemble behind before entering the arena and much, much more. The level of detail is amazing---from the yellow shoes that grip the tight rope and allow the performer to navigate the rope without falling (not pictured but you WILL be receiving a pair of these like those included in the original set), to the zoo keeper's tools, to the unicycle that really works and that supports another dangling performer, to the safety platforms at the end of the tautly strung tightrope this set will captivate your youngsters' imaginations. Altogether, this play set contains around 150 pieces. I've carefully inspected all of the pieces and compared them with inventories posted on http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3720, the box itself, and the photocopied assembly instructions. I've carefully checked and accounted for each and every piece. As far as I can discern, this set is 100% COMPLETE.
Due to being lazy, I decided not to fully assemble this set for your perusal. Instead, I have included a photo of a similar Playmobil #3720 Circus Romani play set. The one you see here is pictured on my Bonanza site (www.Bonanza.com/booths/auroramorningstar). In contrast to the 100% COMPLETE set that I'm selling on this site, the one on Bonanza is only 99.9% complete. This is an INCREDIBLE find. It exhibits no cracks, breaks, repairs, or stains.
I will be listing some "add-on" accessory sets that accompanied this Romani Circus set in the near future. In the meantime, you may wish to check out some other accessory sets for the Circus Romani on my Bonanza site. I'm more than willing to combine purchases from both sites into one shipment.
FYI, Playmobil toys are reknowned for their high quality, durability, attention to detail, and the extendability of their underlying toy system. All figures are scaled to fit in a child's hand with add-on accessories (e.g. hats, skirts, aprons, collars, scarves, armor, headresses, shoes, sandals, jewelry etc.) lending authenticity to the different characters involved. The jointed figures are able to clasp items in their hands and move about through "child power." A wide assortment of vehicles, animals, furniture, and buildings are realistically scaled according to their "real-life" equivalents and to reflect actual life scenarios. Several of the animals have mouths that open and close and the elephants' trunks can pick up buckets by their handles etc.. All of Playmobil's play sets revolve around established "themes" familiar to young children (e.g. Medieval Castles and Knights, Pirates, Western Forts, Native Americans, Trains, Stage Coaches, Gold Mines, Circuses, Zoos, Victorian Mansions, Fairy Tale Castles, Sherwood Forest, Construction, Doctors and Dentists' Offices, Hospitals, Airports, Modern Homes etc.).
Due to the level of detail, children's imaginations are afforded endless open-ended play opportunities. Not only do these toys broaden a child's imagination, creativity, attention, and use of elaborate oral narratives, they also facilitate a child's cooperative and dramatic play skills and fine motor capabilities. These toys have won numerous national and international toy awards and conform to the highest production standards of quality and safety in accordance with European and American safety guidelines. The toys, while primarily manufactured in Germany, also are produced in Malta and Spain. They are distributed in more than 70 countries throughout the world.
I can vouch for the high quality and play value these toys afford. My own children played with a variety of these sets up until age 13! Talk about getting "your bang for the buck." Several of them were employed in school diorama projects. What a lifesaver! I also used them with my preschool and school aged clients for speech-language therapy. They'd be great for families that are home-schooling their children.
Due to the small, intricate parts, Playmobil recommends that these toys be reserved for children 4 years of age and up. However, my daughter, who never mouthed her toys and was advanced for her age, received her first Playmobil toys at 2 1/2 years of age. Adult supervision is highly recommended for children under 3-4 years of age.
As I mentioned, this set does come with its original box. The box does display some wear (extraneous marks and tape, some edge wear, creased and torn inner cardboard compartments from shifting contents, a few punctures, creases, rubs, and original price tags etc). On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being perfect, I would rate this box as being a 7.5-8.0/10.0.
Don't miss out on this INCREDIBLE play set! It weighs 5 lbs. 6 oz. UNWRAPPED and my location is Lafayette, IN (47905).
Please check back often as I'm going to be listing other FANTASTIC Vintage Playmobil sets in the near future.
